In our 23 year old home, we have many favorite spots that the grandchildren enjoy when they visit. We have a secret passage—fully finished with carpet and lighting going from a bedroom to the bonus room. I’ll blog about that another time. We also have what we call a cubby hole in Joel’s old bedroom, and then when we built some bookshelves and cupboards in the family room, we accidently created another hiding/play place. We had to leave one cupboard space totally empty because of the furnace air return there. The younger grandchildren will crawl inside and we pretend we don’t know where they are. We call out for them, and then finally, they burst out and say, “Here we are!” It’s just a nice place to chill when one wants to get away from it all. While most our grandchildren have hidden from us in this favorite spot, I don’t have a picture of all of them. But here are a few.
Let's start with the cubby hole in Joel's old bedroom:

What fun pictures! Kids can't resist it!
I LOVE all the photos in the cabinet!!
from Josh: Grammy and Grandpa, I think these pictures are really awesome, great, and grawesome (awesome and great together). I like the pictures of me, Claire and Koen.
i have $5 for the first adult family member to have mom take their picture inside the cabinet.
mom, do you have any pics of us hiding in the old living room end tables (with the church magazines) when we were little?
Joel---you are so funny. I'm going to go look for pix of you guys hiding in those end tables right now. Funny! I doubt I have any.
PS ~ You know, I think Lori could fit in that hiding spot.
i didn't know that hiding place was there. You've blown their cover, grandma! :-)
